KPN Ventures has invested in SecurityMatters, a leading provider of advanced cybersecurity solutions for Industrial Control Systems. The investment is in line with KPN’s strategy to grow in security services and to partner with innovative technology companies in that field.
SecurityMatters, based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, was founded in 2009 by Emmanuele Zambon, Damiano Bolzoni and Sandro Etalle. The company’s network monitoring solution, SilentDefense, enables Critical Infrastructure organizations in for example the oil and gas industry to operate cyber-resilient Industrial Control Systems. Since its introduction in 2013, SilentDefense has been deployed across multiple geographies and industries including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil & gas, manufacturing, chemical and pharmaceutical plants, and drinking water.
Herman Kienhuis, managing director KPN Ventures: “KPN has already been working together with SecurityMatters, bringing their SilentDefense cybersecurity monitoring software to industrial customers in The Netherlands. We are impressed by the expertise of the team and the quality of their product and see ample opportunity to expand our partnership and support the company in its growth.”
Damiano Bolzoni, Co-Founder and CEO of SecurityMatters: “We are extremely proud to have attracted such high-caliber investors, who will use their expertise and networks to accelerate our growth and take our business to the next level.” KPN Ventures joins Emerald Technology Ventures, Robert Bosch Venture Capital and Phoenix Contact Innovation Ventures in this investment round into SecurityMatters.
